Today, I am sharing three daily mindfulness practices that will enhance your mindset & wellbeing. I have been consistent with these habits for a few years and they’ve helped me feel more self assured and peaceful. I am confident they will work for you too. I work in a popular online health program and I share these habits with all of my clients. I always say that good healthy changes begin with a positive mindset. These wellness tips will definitely help cultivate a brighter more positive outlook.
- Journaling. I have grown to love journaling. It helps organize your thoughts, understand your emotions and feel more grateful.(an attitude of gratitude will change your life!) It’s important to journal with pen to paper instead of on a computer. The hand can’t write as fast as the mind thinks, so the act of writing allows your body time to slow down and take deeper breaths. It makes journaling more intentional. My advice is treat yourself to a pretty journal, a nice pen, and start dedicating time each day to this practice. Don’t know where to start? Here’s a simple routine: every morning, as you’re enjoying your coffee or tea, grab your journal and begin writing using these prompts:
1. three things you’re grateful for in this moment
2.one thing you’re looking forward to on this particular day
3.one thing you will do that day to nourish your body well
This helps create healthy habits and you’re more likely to keep the promises that you make to yourself when you write them down. This directly builds confidence and trust within yourself. win – win -win! - A morning walk outside. Morning sun + fresh air + movement. There is truly nothing better! I can tell a major difference when I don’t walk in the morning. A morning stroll helps me feel brighter, more calm (yet energized!) and sets the tone for the day. This is exercise, for sure, however it’s not about burning calories. It’s simply a great way to start the day gently and slowly.
- Stretch & meditate for seven minutes. I started meditating using the Calm app three years ago and I still use it today. I love the “Daily Jays” from Jay Shetty. Every single day, he releases seven minute guided meditations. They are always insightful and relaxing. Instead of sitting still, I love to combine the meditation with a few yoga stretches. I listen to my body and stretch any areas that feel tense or tight. I make sure to breathe deeply, and I never take this too seriously. I’ve tried meditating “perfectly” and was quickly humbled! I’ve learned that meditation is just the act of intentionally slowing down to simply be. It’s simple and it’s powerful. This quick stretch + meditate sesh I treat myself to helps me feel grounded and lighter (emotionally). I look forward to it every day.
I hope these tips are helpful. Creating a routine of healthy mindfulness habits enrich overall wellbeing. I’d love to know what else you would add to this list! Wishing you a beautiful day. xx
